At Gentle Lion, our mission is simple yet bold: Better Husbands. Better Fathers. Stronger Families. But every so often, God writes a story that reminds us that this calling stretches far beyond what we can imagine. This is one of those stories.
A Divine Appointment on the Shores of Cannon Beach
What began as a quiet morning at the beach packing up camp became a moment that only God could orchestrate. Major B took a quick trip to Cannon Beach for a little R and R and happened to bring to much firewood. Before leaving, he noticed a family around a nearby campsite finishing a morning bible study —there he met Juan and Ricardo. Feeling prompted, Major offered them some firewood. What seemed like a small act of kindness opened the door to a powerful conversation, a new friendship, and ultimately a life-changing opportunity.
As the three men talked, Major learned that Juan had survived a devastating electrical accident that resulted in the amputation of both legs. Despite everything he had endured, Juan radiated strength, humility, and a deep desire to move forward with purpose. It became immediately clear that this meeting was no coincidence—it was a moment prepared by God.
Stepping Into the Story: Gentle Lion Responds
After hearing about Juan’s situation, Gentle Lion felt called to step in. Through prayer, unity, and support, Gentle line was able to help contribute to the purchase prosthetic legs for Juan—equipment that would normally be far beyond reach for many families. But this wasn’t just about mobility. This was about dignity. About independence. About restoration. Juan didn’t just receive prosthetics—he received hope.
A Message That Multiplies
As this story unfolded, Major was invited to share the Gentle Lion mission with a group of men in Yakima, Washington. There, he told the story of meeting Juan—of God’s timing, God’s provision, and God’s ability to move through ordinary people who simply say “yes.” He reminded the men that when we rise as better husbands and fathers, we don’t just transform our homes—we impact nations. And that truth was about to become even more real.
A New Beginning in Honduras
With his new prosthetic legs fitted, Juan is returning home to Honduras—standing tall, walking forward, and inspired to start a new. .Juan shared that he desired to bring the message of Gentle Lion to his own community. He wanted men in Honduras to hear the same call that changed his life:
A Privilege to Watch God Work
For those of us here, we are humbled and grateful. We get the privilege of watching God work—not just through our ministry, but through the lives of men who encounter His power and respond with courage.
What happened with Juan is not just a story about prosthetics.
It’s a story about God’s timing.
God’s provision.
God’s heart for His sons.
And it’s a reminder of why Gentle Lion exists:
Better Husbands. Better Fathers. Stronger Families.
Juan now walks on new legs.
He walks in new purpose.
And he walks forward as a Gentle Lion.
To everyone who prays, supports, and walks with this ministry—thank you. This is the fruit of your faithfulness.
The story isn’t over. God is still writing it!
